Shea Padgett

Shea Padgett is a 36-year-old originally from Thibodaux, Louisiana. His journey with addiction began after a serious injury at the age of 19, which led to a long battle with opioid dependence. In 2022, seeking freedom and a fresh start, Shea moved to West Monroe in pursuit of deliverance and healing.

Once there, he became deeply involved in recovery communities, including Alcoholics Anonymous and Celebrate Recovery. He found joy and purpose in sharing his testimony and offering hope to others, often visiting treatment centers and rehab facilities to speak about his experience. He also serves as a drummer on the worship team at WFR Celebrate Recovery.

While working as a carpenter, Shea felt a strong calling to help others on their recovery journey. That passion led him to roles in the treatment field, starting as a behavioral health technician and later taking on maintenance duties at Freedom Recovery. Now, he serves full-time as a residential counselor(CIT) at Freedom Recovery and is actively working toward his Registered Addiction counselor (RAC) credentials.

Ashlee Bentz

Hi, I’m Ashlee Bentz, and I’m proud to serve as the Director of Marketing & Business Development and the Vice President of Finance at Freedom Recovery, LLC. I’m originally from Calhoun, LA, and my journey has been a mix of hands-on administration, innovative business expansion, and creative marketing, all powered by my deep commitment to serve and make a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.

Having witnessed addiction’s toll firsthand in family member’s and close friend’s lives, and being motivated by our need to truly help those who struggle with addiction, my best friend and I founded Freedom Recovery in 2023. We envisioned a treatment program that went beyond the standard protocols to also offer recovery outreach, mentorship, and a dedicated support system for those transitioning to sober living after treatment. Our mission is simple: to provide a caring environment where evidence-based therapies meet holistic practices addressing the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of recovery.

For the first year and a half, I served as the Administrator, ensuring that our 36-bed residential treatment facility ran smoothly and met all necessary standards. Eventually, we realized that I needed to take our vision directly into the community. I decided to hit the road, connecting with other substance abuse and mental health providers and facilities, and attending mental health, drug court, and probation & parole conferences throughout the state. I knew I was the person who could truly communicate who we are and what we stand for at Freedom Recovery, in order to develop lasting partnerships with those who share in our mission.

Outside of my professional life, my faith plays an integral role in shaping who I am. I love serving the Lord and am an active member of The Oaks Church. This deep-rooted passion for service and community inspires me every day, reminding me to lead with integrity, compassion, and genuine care.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. I’m excited about the journey we’re on, and I am deeply committed to supporting those facing substance abuse challenges, helping them discover freedom through faith during their recovery journey.
